Still

img_1788

A pristine lake in stillness lies,

Bereft of wave and straying ripple,

Stilling the stillness of the skies,

Reflecting every celestial miracle.

A running river distorts every image,

By moving in feverish motion,

Never reflecting upon its visage,

The complete image of true devotion.

The perfection of divine design,

Reflected by man’s will,

Will remain unclear and undefined,

Until that soul is still.
